|The XXIV RAIL VEHICLES conference was recognized by the European Commission (DG MOVE) as an event promoting the European Year of Railways [LINK].
Its aim is to promote railways as a sustainable, intelligent and safe means of transport. The growing popularity of railways can significantly contribute to the achievement of one of the most important goals of the European Green Deal, i.e. achieving climate neutrality by the EU by 2050. The aim of the Conference is to exchange experiences on current research problems in scientific units in Poland, as well as to showcase the achievements and challenges of rail vehicle and rail transport companies. The topics of the 24th scientific conference RAIL VEHICLES covers a wide range of issues related to rail transport, in particular:
Design and construction of rail vehicles
Operation and maintenance of rail vehicles
Reliability and safety in rail transport
Diagnostics, testing of assemblies and components of rail vehicles
Certification and formal and legal aspects
Logistics, ecology in rail transport
Rail transport in urban logistics (metro, tram)
Innovative solutions and transport efficiency
Maciej Szkoda, Cracow University of Technology, Institute of Rail Vehicles – chairman of the Scientific Committee
The Institute of Railway Vehicles of the Cracow University of Technology is one of the 12 organizational units forming part of the mechanical department, which is the largest faculty at the Cracow University of Technology and one of the largest in Poland. Since 2017, the institute operates two plants: The Construction and Exploitation Department of Railway Vehicles and the Department of Logistic systems. The staff of the Institute carry out teaching activities in studies I and II of the degree on speciality related to the engineering of means of transport, operation, safety and reliability of rail vehicles and logistics and forwarding. Postgraduate studies are also carried out “Construction and operation of rail vehicles”,, which are highly acclaimed among rail transport companies, are also underway.
In addition, the Institute conducts extensive cooperation with the economic environment in the implementation of research and development projects, the implementation of innovative technologies, opinions and technical expertise on rail vehicles.

The XXIV edition of the Conference gives the opportunity to publish the results of the study in the Materials of IOP Publishing (level I in the list of MNiSW publications from 2019), in the series IOP Conference Series: Materials Science and Engineering indexed in the Scopus database. Also if you are not interested in publishing in English language in the is the opportunity to publish in Polish language in RAIL VEHICLES (Scientific and Technical Quarterly).

After positive reviews, articles will be published in the materials published by IOP Publishing in the IOP Conference Series: Materials Science and Engineering, indexed in the SCOPUS database or in the POJAZDY RZYNOWE quarterly, and their summaries will be included in conference materials.

Instructions for preparing an article for publication in the materials of IOP Publishing, IOP Conference Series: Materials Science and Engineering:
The article should be written in English in accordance with the requirements specified in the IOP template (pdf) and the IOPCS template (docx) and should be no longer than 10 pages. It is recommended to use an article template that contains ready-made formatting styles that help in the correct preparation of the text of the article. Instructions for using the article template are provided in the following file.
The abstract of the article should present the aim of the work, results and main conclusions and should not be longer than 200 words. Please pay particular attention to the formatting of the source cited list. Citations not prepared according to the recommendations may not be properly registered in Scopus. The abstract of the article, which will be published in printed form, should not be longer than 1 page and prepared in accordance with the template of the abstract in Polish and English. Both the article and the extended summary should be sent in MS Word format (preferably * .docx).

The conference fee does not include accommodation. On September 12-15, the organizers provide preferential prices for accommodation in the ARŁAMÓW **** hotel: PLN 300.0 net for a single room and PLN 340.0 net for a double room. Reservations must be made and paid for at least three months before the conference commencement date, after prior notification of participation in the conference.
